INTRODUCTION:

AFCIFIX is an inorganic, medium viscosity self setting adhesive which develops a bond of moderate strength when used for jointing purposes. AFCIFIX verities are greatly suitable for jointing half cores, repairing damaged cores & building intricate core assemblies.

DESCRIPTION:

AFCIFIX is supplied in white / yellow / red / blue Colour paste form & is particularly suitable for jointing moulds & cores produced by carbon dioxide process. It has good air setting properties when applied to cold cores & sets in about 1-2 hours. Dressing may be applied over AFCIFIX joint without any ill effect.

APPLICATION:

AFCIFIX is applied with a brush or knife to each joint face. The two parts of the joint are then pressed firmly together. To speed up setting time allow the surfaces to become tacky before pressing the faces together.

AFCIFIX should not be applied to hot cores as it will get too rapidly dried & loose its adhesive properties.

Hints on using AFCIFIX –

  1. Large flat surface – It is not necessary to apply AFCIFIX over the entire surfaces. This is waste full & will

Prolong setting time. Apply the adhesive round the outer edge or in patches or ribbons.

STORAGE:

Preferably store in cool place & in covered condition.

PRECAUTIONS:

  1. Material is non – toxic & safe to use.
  2. Soon after use close the container tightly.
  3. Always keep plenty of water & first aid ready.
  4. Normal safety aids like goggles, hand – gloves should be used.
  5. If exposed to atmosphere for long time, it will dry & loose its adhesive properties. Always keep the container tightly closed & away from heat.
